Adaptive snowboarding has really taken off over the past decade, first being introduced as a Paralympic sport in 2014 at the Sochi Games. But there are still challenges and opportunities in the sport in terms of recruiting and engaging more competitors at the national level here in the United States. In this episode, we talk with two leading experts and coaches who are passionate about adaptive snowboarding. Reggie Showers is a certified snowboard instructor, an amputee advocate and certified peer visitor. Chris Koeppe, or “Kep”, is a snowboard instructor with Adaptive Sports Center in Crested Butte and one of the Team USA coaches as well.
