Martin Truex Jr. made history at Sunday’s Toyota/SaveMart 350, winning his fourth race and bringing him one step closer to Jeff Gordon’s 5 wins at Sonoma Raceway. Truex Jr. started the day fourth in the line up, and surged to the lead in the second stage after pole-sitter Denny Hamlin found himself involved in a front-straight crash. Truex Jr. withstood Kyle Busch’s last-lap challenge to clinch the win. Kevin Harvick, in his last season before retiring, was able to finish in the top five and was one of five drivers who completed the final lap.  The Cup Series is off for Father’s Day weekend, but will resume June 25th at Nashville Superspeedway.

The DoorDash 250 proved to be a NASCAR race to remember at Sonoma Raceway, with Kyle Larson dominating the early stages only to falter at the final corner. After Jeffrey Earnhardt’s crash caused a late-race caution, Aric Almirola charged through to take pole and eventually the victory, narrowly outrunning AJ Almendinger in the process. Kyle Larson, Ty Gibbs and Parker Klingerman rounded out the top five, leaving Cup regulars at the top of the podium. The Xfinity Series resumes on June 24th at Nashville Superspeedway.

Ryan Preece dominated Friday’s General Tire 200 at Sonoma Raceway, dominating from pole to checkered flag. After a 19th lap pitstop, Preece accelerated back to the front of the field, overtaking his rivals one by one while Landen Lewis valiantly attempted to chase him down. Despite Lewis’ best efforts, he eventually fell back to 19th position, as Preece cruised to the win in his Bonanza #9 Ford Mustang. Riley Herbst finished third, followed by Jack Wood. Lewis remains the points leader heading into July’s race at Irwindale Speedway.
